It’s never too late for a success story, and one of the best TV ratings narratives of summer 2016 seems to have come in right under the wire.

Better Late Than Never, NBC’s travelogue about a few old celebrities traversing Asia, has the distinction of being the only new summer entry to hold its premiere score for a solid three weeks. The third episode again pulled a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49, tying it for the No. 2 telecast of the night in the key demographic. And, again, it held that score with a smaller lead-in from America’s Got Talent. The competition series averaged a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49, off a little more than 10 percent from the prior Tuesday.
